Silver Shield / Dhaal is a hand-held defensive weapon nearly always round, convex but varies in diameter about 12 -24 inches used by warrior to protect himself from the attacks of the enemy. They were made from animal hide, steel, or cane varying from region to region & were decorated with silver, gold, and other ornamentals. Though on some occasions they were covered with inscriptions also. This dhal/ shield is made of steel 20 INCHES in diameter and has been decorated with pure silver wire inlay work on it also known as koftgari work a dying art that was used in the older era to decor the swords and shields of kings used in royal ceremonies.
