As the name depicts shields are used to protect oneself from the heavy blow attacks of the enemy on the battlefield. This shield is made of steel with black leather pasting on it. Bosses of this Indian dhal or shield have spikes on them making its look offensive without losing its main purpose of defense. Round in shape with 46 cms ( 18 inches) of diameter, gives it a perfect look for a warrior to hold. The inner side is wrapped with velvet cushioning and strips to hold the shield.
