Description
Silver Khanjali / Khanjrali
The Silver Khanjali (Khanjrali) is a double-edged Deccan-Indian recurve dagger, often revered as a short sword distinguished by its graceful curves and remarkable craftsmanship. Traditionally carried by warriors, nobles, and royal guards, this dagger reflects the valor, artistry, and rich heritage of India’s legendary weapon-making traditions. Each piece by Shree Amritsar Sword is handcrafted with exceptional precision, preserving techniques that have defined centuries of fine metal artistry.
Forged from high-carbon steel (EN31), the blade measures 32 cm in length and features subtle fullers on both sides to enhance its balance and aesthetic symmetry. With a hardness of 42–43 HRC, it offers excellent durability and edge retention. Measuring 3.5 cm in breadth and a total length of 45 cm (48.5 cm with sheath), the Silver Khanjali is perfectly proportioned for ceremonial display or distinguished collections.
The iron hilt is richly decorated with silver Koftgari artwork in intricate floral and vine patterns, reflecting the delicate precision of traditional Indian inlay craftsmanship. Each motif is applied through a meticulous silver overlay process where fine silver wire is skillfully embedded onto the iron surface. This form of Koftgari art produces a brilliant, embossed texture that shimmers against the dark steel background—creating a royal contrast that symbolizes purity, strength, and elegance. The floral Koftgari detailing further enhances the dagger’s regal charm, making it a masterpiece of ornamental design.
The blue scabbard, paired with the radiant silver hilt, adds a touch of sophistication and timeless beauty. Weighing approximately 522 grams (686 grams with sheath), each handcrafted dagger may slightly vary, adding uniqueness to every piece.
Each Silver Khanjali comes with its original scabbard, ensuring authenticity and tradition. Whether admired as a collector’s treasure or appreciated for its cultural significance, this dagger stands as a true fusion of art and heritage.
