🛡️ History and Craft of the Sikh Tega
⚔️ What is a Sikh Tega?
The Sikh Tega is a traditional sword once carried by Sikh warriors—especially the Nihang Singhs, known for their bravery and spiritual discipline. What makes the Tega unique is its broad, curved blade, designed for powerful strikes during battle.
More than just a weapon, the Sikh Tega represented courage, strength, and the spirit to stand up for justice. It played a key role in the 18th and 19th centuries when Sikh warriors defended their faith and people.
Today, the Sikh Tega remains a powerful symbol of honor, heritage, and resistance, connecting us to the timeless legacy of the Khalsa warriors.
🛠️ How We Craft Each Sikh Tega
At Shree Amritsar Sword, each Sikh Tega is hand-forged by skilled artisans in Punjab, India— the birthplace of Sikh martial traditions. We use techniques passed down for generations to ensure every piece reflects authentic craftsmanship and cultural pride.
- Blade: Made from high-quality carbon steel or Damascus steel, the blade is strong, sharp, and perfectly curved.
- Handle: Crafted from brass, horn, or seasoned wood, often engraved or carved with traditional Sikh patterns.
- Finish & Scabbard: Hand-polished and paired with a custom-made leather or wooden scabbard for safe storage and display.
Whether for collection, display, or gifting, each Sikh Tega is created with deep respect for Sikh history and a passion for quality.
